Fighting Climate Change, One Subscription at a Time
Building something that matters has always been important to me. I’m not talking about just building something efficient. Or profitable. Or impressive on a sales dashboard
But something meaningful. Something that makes the world a little better than it was yesterday.
Maybe it’s the state of the world. Maybe it’s the growing tension between progress and impact. Or maybe it’s just what happens when you care deeply about how your work touches other people (and the planet we all live on).
Whatever the reason, it’s led us to make a small but important shift.
We’re donating 1.5% of every Leadli payment to fight climate change via Stripe Climate. This feature, built into our credit card processor, lets businesses automatically fund projects that remove carbon from the atmosphere.
Why climate change
We believe climate change is real and one of the most existential threats of our time. When presented with the option, it was a no-brainer to say yes.
We also use a lot of technology, and we know the environmental cost that comes with it. We believe in being responsible stewards of the environment.
We’re growing a business with AI at its core, and the reality is that AI doesn’t come free—not in the way we sometimes like to imagine. Behind every smart automation, chatbot, and algorithm are powerful servers—running constantly, consuming energy, and leaving a real environmental footprint.

The more sophisticated AI becomes, the more computing power it demands. Training large models and maintaining them over time takes enormous amounts of electricity—most of which still comes from non-renewable sources. While it’s likely that these tools will become more efficient and require less energy over time as they mature, it’s important for us to take action now.
It’s easy to forget that “the cloud” is actually a network of physical data centers. To stay up and running, those data centers require cooling, backup systems, and nonstop electricity.
We’re not anti-tech (obviously). We’re not turning off our tools and going off-grid. But we are trying to be more mindful of the trade-offs. Because progress is only meaningful if it doesn’t come at the cost of the planet we’re building it on.
This is our way of not only running a modern business but also staying grounded and taking responsibility for what that business leaves behind.
Look, I know 1.5% a month isn’t a grand statement and won’t magically solve the problem of climate change, but it’s important that we do something—something that matters to us.
Why it matters
People are paying attention.
More than ever, buying decisions are about more than price or convenience. Customers are asking: What does this business stand for? Who am I supporting when I make this purchase? Do their values align with mine?
Whether they say it out loud or not, people are voting with their wallets—and they’re looking for brands that reflect what they care about. Sustainability. Equity. Community. Integrity. Whatever it is, they want to feel good about where their money goes.
This shift isn’t just a trend. It’s a cultural current that is reshaping the way we do business.

If you’ve been wondering how to stand out in a sea of marketing messages, maybe it’s not just about saying more—it’s about standing for more. Maybe it’s about showing your customers that you care about something beyond your bottom line.
You don’t have to do everything all at once. But small, intentional choices—like giving back, choosing ethical partners, or simply being transparent about your values—can go a long way. Not just because it looks good. But because it is good.
And your people will notice.
We want to be one of those businesses.
We want to build a company that reflects the kind of world we want to live in: thoughtful, conscious, and kind.
